2024: Polaris Expeditionary Learning School - Teacher / Trip Leader

  • Middle School Backpacking Trip: 4-day trip near Fairplay, CO with late Fall weather. We persevered through rain, sleet, and snow to have a great time in the backcountry.

2024: Fun Hog Adventures- Trip Leader

  • Our 5-day backpacking trip near Lake City, CO, was filled with unforgettable moments. The group conquered a full day of steep hiking with teamwork, navigated several mountain streams, and spotted a few herds of elk grazing in nearby meadows. Evenings around the campfire brought laughter and reflection. At the end of the trip a rainstorm rolled in but we took advantage of the breaks in the clouds to dry out and explore the dramatic landscape.

2023: Fun Hog Adventures- Trip Leader

  • Inaugural Fun Hog Adventures Wilderness Backpacking Trip!: 5-day backpacking trip through the Flat Tops Wilderness. Navigating over 25 miles, 5,500+ ft. of elevation gain, and a lot of mosquitos we enjoyed the lakes and cool alpine nights when the mosquitos calmed. There were many amazing sunsets, swims, and fishes caught! We finished the loop hike with a terrific stretch of trail known as The Devil's Causeway!

2023: Polaris Expeditionary Learning School - Teacher / Trip Leader

  • Arctic Ecology: 6-day trip with students to Wiseman, Alaska (60 miles North of the Arctic Circle) investigating the Arctic Ecology and way of life. Welcomed by the hospitality of The Arctic Hive.

2023: Polaris Expeditionary Learning School - Teacher / Trip Leader

  • Red Rock scRamblin': 4-day trip with students to Moab, Utah during a rare stretch of rainy days. We hiked the Devil's Garden loop in Arches and hiked around Canyonlands' Island in the Sky region.

  • Wolf Creek 3.0 Ski Trip: 4-day trip with students to ski for 2 days at Wolf Creek ski resort.

  • Snowy Range 2.0 Backpacking: 4-day backpacking trip in Wyoming.

  • Adventure Week- daily activities included biking, SUP, rock climbing, and hiking a 14er.

  • Outdoor Living Camp: 2 night camping with focus on camp crafts. Fire building, cooking with fire, shelter building, knot tying, night hikes, and outdoor games.

2016: Bold Earth Teen Adventures - Trip Leader

  • Ultimate Coast Washington: 3 week road trip in NW Washington. Rock climbing, 3 day backpacking trips in Enchantments and Olympics Peninsula National Park, sea kayaking at Lopez Island, biking, town time at Pike Market in Seattle. Service Project on Orcas Island.

2012: Bold Earth Teen Adventures - Trip Leader

  • Wild West: 3 week road trip through National Parks of southern Utah into the Sierra Nevada, ending on the central California Coast. (Blog link) Hiking, rock climbing, 2 night overnight white water rafting, surfing, city time in Las Vegas and San Francisco. Service project with California Department of Parks to pull invasive species.

2011: Rocky Mountain School of Expeditionary Learning (RMSEL) - Trip Leader

  • Partnered with RMSEL teacher as the designated Wilderness First Responder on a school adventure trip. 4 day backpacking in Colorado.

2011: Bold Earth Teen Adventures - Trip Leader

  • Ultimate Colorado: 2 week Trip (Jacksonville, FL Youth Program Participants) Backpacking, rock climbing, white water rafting. Community Service Project with Outdoor Ed camp w/ forest fire suppression. 

  • Rock n Roll: 2 week Trip - Rock climbing and white water kayaking. 3-day overnight kayak trip. Community service with 14ers association doing trail work on Mt. Bierstadt
